In Southern Maryland December 6-8, ten nonprofit sites will join together to form the Charles County Holiday Trail. The trail begins on Friday, December 6th with the Kris Kringle Christmas Market at the Charles County Fair. Admission is $1 or one nonperishable food item. All admission will go to the Southern Maryland Food Bank. Modeled after the markets in Germany, visitors can expect plenty of food, lights, greens, art, music, shopping, and a living nativity.

Other sites on the trail include the African American Heritage Society, the Port Tobacco Courthouse, Mount Aventine at Chapman State Park, the Dr. Samuel A. Mudd House Museum, the Thomas Stone National Historic Site, Friendship House at the College of Southern Maryland, the Carmelite Monastery, the Mattawoman Creek Art Center, and the General Smallwood Retreat House.
